New guidelines for sea level change in Norway

The Norwegian Directorate for Civil Protection and Emergency Planning (DBS) recently published updated guidelines for sea level change in Norway. The new guidelines were updated according to the report Sea Level Change for Norway – Past and Present Observations and Projections to 2100.

As IPCC published the 2013 climate report (AR5) it became apparent that the Norwegian guidelines for sea level change needed to be updated. Before this could be done the new data had to be downscaled to fit Norwegian conditions, and this work was completed in 2015.

The new and updated guidelines are intended to provide municipal level government with necessary guidance for acquiring information on risk and vulnerability.

The new guidelines are available here (only in Norwegian).
